Light of Chance, Inc. has partnered with Get Set Go Health & Wellness Company, LLC (GSGHWC) to provide mental health services to its Breathe Youth Arts Program participants and families.
GSGHWC offers individual, group and family counseling to its participants, in addition to parenting classes. The company has a licensed therapist, certified peer specialist, and targeted case managers on its roster of mental health professionals, which boasts of licensed Marriage and Family therapist Dr. Kacey L. Jenkins.
“Light of Chance continues to significantly impact the community through programs that encourage artistic expression and physical wellness and I am extremely excited to partner with the organization as it extends its reach in offering accessible mental health and counseling services to children and families,” Jenkins says.
GSGHWC services are available to the entire Madisonville community, surrounding areas and via Telehealth so that clients may participate virtually. Individuals do not have to be affiliated with LOC’s Breathe program to benefit from services.
Peer support is a service provided by breakthrough staff who have a lived experience in mental health. Programs may take place in one-on-one sessions or in group settings. Peer support is designed to provide social and emotional assistance in a safe and trusting environment.
Targeted Case Managers facilitate the community-based assessment and planning process by working with individuals, families, service providers, and other agencies and individuals to create an individualized plan based on a comprehensive assessment of needs for each person. This may include the following:
- Food, housing, transportation
- Help obtaining disability benefits
- Help obtaining SNAP benefits
- Educational & employment assistance
- IEP assessment & implementation
- Recreation & socialization
- Behavioral health referrals
- On-call crisis support
- Medication management & much more
“We have been working for a long time to provide therapy as an option to our program participants and to have the ability to offer those services to the entire community,” says LOC founder, Eric Logan. “During these uncertain times, our mental health is being challenged and I am glad we can offer another much-needed and impactful service to the community. I believe this is a key component to us being a wholistic program and organization and we could not be more excited about it.”
