ABOUT
Light of Chance, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization founded in 2005. Our mission is to serve youth and the community through innovative arts and wellness programs. Yearly, we serve hundreds of youth in Kentucky through our programs and initiatives.
In November of 2005, a surprisingly intense void in our community was brought to the attention of Eric C. Logan. The community needed more positive and influential people. This resonated with Eric, motivating him to gather like-minded people in order to meet the needs of the community, and from this grew Light of Chance, Inc.
OUR PROGRAMS
Starting in 2012, Breathe is a youth development program geared toward fostering artistic expression, leadership, and also social skills, using yoga, visual arts, music, dance, and creative writing for grades 5-12. Our Breathe program serves youth in Hopkins and Warren County. MORE INFO
Collage is an all-inclusive special needs arts program of non-profit organization, Light of Chance, Inc. for adults with developmental delays and disabilities. We enhance participants’ artistic expression, social skills, and self-confidence through visual arts, dance, music, and yoga. Our goal is to inspire all participants to reach their full potential through the arts. We want to build an environment where participants feel a sense of belonging while enjoying their experiences within the program. MORE INFO
Since its inception in 2007, our leadership conference aims to foster an inclusive environment that empowers young people to discover their personal leadership identity. Middle and high school students will participate by engaging in a daylong, interactive experience including breakout sessions with three prominent themes: Curious and Innovative Leadership, Exploring the Leader Within, and Expressive Leaders. The Aspire: Emerging Leaders Conference is incorporated into the school day and hosted at a local community college or university. MORE INFO
Launched in 2012, the Breathe | Youth Arts Program cultivates creativity while providing a positive environment for youth to express themselves, engage in dialogue about important issues, and experience personal and social transformation through the arts. The program provides constructive creative outlets, encourages cooperation, and teamwork; as well as teaches artistic and social skills in an environment where youth are valued and celebrated.
After achieving great success with our after-school program, we’ve created a school residency initiative that brings Breathe into classrooms to provide a non-traditional creative outlet and fosters personal and social transformation while learning.
OUR EVENTS
The Dust Bowl is a summer basketball tournament in Madisonville with more than 30 years of rich history. In 2009, Light of Chance began using it as a platform to unite and restore the family unit. We also assist with school supplies, provide back-to-school haircuts, hair-dos, and other needs. MORE INFO
